'Mines and Miners of Wensleydale'

Ian spent 18,000 hours researching and writing this book and we were delighted to assist him with his ‘labour of love’. The result is a stunning, authoritative account of the mining history of Wensleydale, and Ian is successfully selling his books locally and further afield.

“UK Book Publishing have helped me produce a book which is constantly praised for its cover, type, setting out and quality of paper. Being a first time writer they have given me the best of support and guided me throughout to produce an excellent book at a very competitive price.”

'The Pogues: The best night out in town'

A book that beautifully combines humour and pathos, this is much more than a fan’s perspective of life following The Pogues. Recounting numerous scrapes and adventures, Calum Bruce’s book will appeal to Pogues diehards as well as anyone interested in a good story, told well.

We edited Calum’s book, designed a cover for him, typeset the book and set it up for print on demand. As well as selling online, Calum also got a bulk quantity of books printed, and took them with him to a number of Pogues concerts. His marketing included setting up a website, connecting with fans on Facebook and other social media, and organising media coverage.

“From the very start, I was comfortable working with some really genuine people who believed in my writing. They delivered in every way, advising me throughout superbly, and even managed to complete my project to a tight time schedule. I’m both thrilled and delighted. The end result, simply, is that my book is doing well. I’m so pleased that I chose to work with Ruth, Jay and Dan.”

What made me decide to work with Ukbookpublishing.com was the telephone call I made to Ruth Lunn enquiring about self publishing services about my second novel Mistaken Identity. My call was handled in a professional manner. She promised me an interesting journey and that's how its been like with the whole team. I have enjoyed every step .
Thank you for transforming Mistaken Identity into a masterpiece. Like the book cover, the typesetting, editing, all beautifully done. I will definitely call again for my third Novel.

'A guide to positive mental health'

The aim of this guide is to promote positive mental health in sport – and football in particular. Mental health issues can be harder to spot than physical injury, but how much support the sufferer receives can make a big difference to their recovery.

Caroline has set up a footballing support community, and this book came out of wanting to provide practical support for coaches in particular. We proofread the book, designed and laid it out, and set the book up for print on demand and online sales.

“When I first starting writing my first book, I expected a long, tedious and scary experience. After all, I'd never done anything on this scale before!
Working with UK Book Publishing has been an amazing experience. Not only did the staff walk me through the stages, but Ruth has made a scary experience into a pleasurable one. Not only did she talk me through every step of writing my first book, but the advice given and her great communication has left me wanting to write further books.
I am now planning my second book and cannot wait to work with UK Book Publishing again.”

'Blind Courage'

An inspiring woman and an amazing story. Christine Deponio went blind at 16, but she hasn’t let that stop her achieving her goals in life. Indeed she has fitted so much into her life so far, that this autobiography is only Part 1.

We proof-read, typeset and designed Christine’s book, set her book up for online print and e-book sales, and printed thousands of books. Christine organised two book launches and didn’t tire of signing books at both. She has also taken every opportunity to market her book, and the proceeds are going towards purchasing a new building for the hospice she runs.

'Tetra'

The first of a four-part series, Tetra is an exciting book by a new young author. We took his brief for the cover to create a visual that sets the book within its genre and pulls in the imagery from the story. We also edited the book and typeset it, before setting up the book for print on demand and selling online.

The author is garnering some great reviews already, so look out for the sequel.

“I stumbled upon UK Book Publishing almost by accident and it was the most fortunate accident of all. Every team member I ever interacted with were so pleasant and helpful, going above and beyond to assist me after a previous editor had let me down. From book cover to manuscript editing, the team did it all and kept me informed throughout. Can't wait to see what they do with my next three in the series!”

'Calendar Pigs'

A beautifully illustrated book, first published as a hardback, had gone out of print, and its author and illustrator, Georgina Jack, was keen to make it available as a paperback, so we reset the book, with some additional illustrations, and got it for sale online through print on demand.

“Thank you for making such a beautiful job of my book. You are obviously a perfectionist and I couldn't be more delighted with the result. I was not expecting such high quality in a paperback. Please pass on my grateful thanks to everyone involved in its production.”
